Helping the State Put Its Best Foot Forward for Amazon HQ2
— Website Strategy, Design + Development
— Search Engine Optimization
In September 2017 Amazon released an RFP soliciting bids from regions, cities, and states to host HQ2, a second North American headquarters for the online retail giant.
Designed to match the current Amazon campus in Washington in physical footprint, employment, and overall economic impact to the selected location, the State of Connecticut engaged Rebecca Mead Communications to design and build the website companion and host for the official state response.
Working with representatives from the Governor’s Office, the Connecticut Department of Economic and Community Development, as well as the cities of Hartford, East Hartford, and Stamford, the website was designed and built to match the state’s brand and suite of official websites, and provided an interactive companion to the official state response to the Amazon RFP.
Built on the WordPress content management system, the site was designed and developed in three weeks, with the launch coinciding with Governor Malloy’s press conference on October 19, 2017.
